ফলশ্রুতি (Divine Phalasruti)

Verse 13 explicitly proclaims that the sincere seeker who recites this hymn at the culmination of puja (পূজান্তে) is freed from the burden of sins, unwholesome karmic impressions, and inner afflictions.

  • Subdues the rampant rogue elephant of uncontrolled mind (*Karindrasura*).
  • Bestows peace, clarity of intellect, and protection against worldly fears.
  • Grants the full merit of worship (*Pujaphala*).

পাঠ বিধি (Recitation Vidhi)

For optimal spiritual resonance, the practitioner should undertake initial bodily purification (*Aachamana*), sit upon a clean Kusha or woolen asana, and light an earthen lamp.

  • Direction: Face East (*Purva*) or North (*Uttara*).
  • Ideal Time: Dawn (*Brahma Muhurta*) or Sandhya Aarti hours.
  • Offering: Fresh red flowers (hibiscus), sandalwood, and devotion.

  • The lion represents Dharma subjugating reckless ego (*Ahamkara*).
  • Conch, chakra, bow, and arrow harmonize protection and cosmic order.

Frequently Asked Questions on Jagadhatri Stotram

1. What is the scriptural authenticity of Sri Jagadhatri Stotram?
The hymn is directly extracted from the revered Jagaddhatri Kalpa (জগদ্ধাত্রীকল্প), an authoritative Tantric ritual manual that details the four praharas of worship, dhyana imagery, nyasa rites, and the thirteen eternal shlokas celebrating Devi as the cosmic preserver.
2. When should one chant Sri Jagadhatri Stotram during the annual festival?
In Krishnagar, Jagadhatri Puja is celebrated on the sacred Kartik Shukla Navami tithi. During the four praharas (Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, and Dashami kalpas performed in one day), priests and devotees recite the Stotram at the conclusion of each pushpanjali and aarti session.
3. What is the difference between Dhyana Mantra and Pranam Mantra?
The Dhyana Mantra (Om caturbhujām siṃhasthāṃ...) serves as the mental visualization blueprint of Maa Jagadhatri's golden effulgence, four arms, weapons, and lion mount. The Pranam Mantra (Jayade jagadānande...) is the devotional offering of salutations and humble surrender at Her lotus feet.
4. Can anyone recite this Stotram regardless of language background?
Absolutely. The Stotram is accessible to all sincere devotees. You can toggle between Bengali script and English Roman transliteration using the toolbar at the top. Spiritual tradition emphasizes sincere heart devotion (Bhakti) over ritual perfection.
5. Why is Maa Jagadhatri depicted riding a lion stepping on an elephant?
As taught by Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the rogue elephant (Karindrasura) represents the wild, intoxicated ego and desires of the human mind. The lion of pure spiritual strength and Dharma, commanded by Mother Jagadhatri, permanently subdues this ego, restoring cosmic and inner harmony.
